He is a motivational speaker, trilingual poet, TV talk show host, rapper, and professor of cross-cultural communication at American University. His writings and performances have appeared in O Magazine, as well as on TV and radio from CNN, BET, and the BBC to NPR, Music Choice, and Voice of America. His most recent book, “The UPstander’s Guide to an Outstanding Life,” is a life balance book for students.
Robert Leigh Pruitt, II has provided leadership training and program development, motivational speaking, and spiritual life coaching throughout the United States and around the world. He specializes in the development of programs that provide youth and adults an opportunity for extraordinary personal growth. In 2010, he received the STEM Champion Congressional Award for empowering teachers as designers of 21st century learning and preparing youth as global leaders in a digital age. He has appeared on CNN and The Oprah Winfrey Show, and is a regular guest on The Audrey Chapman Show on WHUR 96.3 FM.
